Look Into My Eyes... Or Don't, Whatever

Hey there! Like most, I'm terrible at these introduction threads... But here goes nothing!

My name's Melissa, I'll go by Mellie most of the time, or you can put in the effort to type MelissaMedusa -- whatever floats your boat. I've been roleplaying on forums for 11 years now (wait, actually? jesus) and tabletop roleplaying for a bit shorter of a time. I only roleplay original settings as I just don't feel comfortable roleplaying canon characters.

I had a roleplay forum that a ran for a few years back in the day, and have on-and-off roleplayed ever since. I'm back at it though, and I've been working the last couple of months on building up a new forum, which isn't quite ready yet, but is getting close.

Genre-wise I prefer to roleplay fantasy! I love the genre, but usually find existing properties leave me wanting, so roleplay is how I get my fill. I'll occasionally explore horror, too, but usually save that for my solo writing projects due to the difficulty of horror roleplaying.
